Overview
Description:
OAT helps Oregon farmers and ranchers permanently protect their land and keep it in production. Landowners may donate or sell a working land easement to limit future subdivision, development and other rights that interfere with farming.
Eligibility:
OAT works on a voluntary basis with willing landowners. Project criteria include high quality soils, sufficient water rights, and farm or ranch acreage larger than average for the county in which the property is located. In addition, OAT's 5-year Farm and Ranch Protection Plan identifies Investment Zones of highest priority farm and ranch land for protection.
Financial benefit:
Landowners can receive a charitable tax credit and/or cash
