Description:

This Conservation Implementation Strategy (CIS) focuses conservation efforts on improving two water quality factors within the focus area. The primary focus is on reducing erosion from cropland by implementing vegetative practices such as cover cropping, conservation cover, forage and biomass planting, and tree and shrub planting. The primary focus is on reducing erosion from cropland by implementing vegetative practices such as cover cropping, conservation cover, forage and biomass planting, and tree and shrub planting. The secondary focus is increasing summer stream flows by implementing irrigation improvements such as converting sprinkler to drip irrigation, installation of irrigation pipelines, installation of ODFW-approved fish screens and installing more efficient irrigation pumps, which would result in decreased summer water temperatures by improving irrigation efficiency, and improving irrigation water management.
