Overview

Description:

For over 25 years, the WBRFEG has worked to improve the habitat and population of salmon in Pacific County. Typical habitat projects involve removal of fish passage barriers such as undersized and failing culverts, habitat improvement by placement of large woody debris and spawning gravel, and riparian zone restoration through the planting of carefully selected streamside trees, brush and other vegetation. On many of our projects, we utilize remote site incubators (RSI's) to quickly rebuild a depressed salmon population in a given area utilizing fish stocks from local hatcheries and broadstock methods.
