event.

Overview

Description:

KCD provides free wildfire assessment visits to King County communities and individuals within the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). During these visits, a KCD staff member recommends actions that when taken can reduce the risk of home ignition during a wildfire these recommendations can include practices such as vegetation and fuels removal, hardscaping, vent screening tree and shrub pruning, and gutter and roof maintenance. After receiving a wildfire risk assessment, landowner can apply for a limited amount of wildfire mitigation cost-share funding to cover specific wildfire mitigation practices.

Eligibility:

To receive a Wildfire Mitigation Assessment, you must:
-Be a resident of King County: excluding the cities of: Enumclaw, Milton, Federal Way,
Skykomish and Pacific.

-Be located within the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). (You can verify this online at the WA
State Wildland Urban Interface (WUI))

Financial benefit: 

75% cost share on specific approved wildfire mitigation practices up to the per project
limit.
