The Regulation Assistance Program assists small forest landowners with questions related to the state’s Forest Practices rules and the Forest Practices Application/Notification (FPA/N).

Description:

For many landowners, harvesting is a once in a lifetime experience and navigating the rules can be overwhelming. Please visit our website to read more information that addresses small forest landowner concerns.

The Regulation Assistance Staff will include a wildlife biologist to help with water and habitat assessments for small forest landowners. Regulation Assistance Foresters can provide information that will equip small Forest Landowners to complete a Forest Practice Application (FPA), including:
• Alternate Plans
• Long term applications
• 20 acre exempt harvest activities
• Harvest regime options (including salvage logging)
• Road construction/maintenance options
• Management strategies/Forest Practice activities
• Standard or Complex Forest Practice Rule questions
• Water/Wetland typing questions
• Riparian management zone (RMZ) and wetland management zone (WMZ) options
• Pre-Application Site Reviews (in coordination with Forest Practices Staff)

Eligibility:

All small forest landowners qualify for regulatory assistance and are encouraged to contact the office and speak to a local Regulation Assistance Forester or the Wildlife Biologist.
