Overview

Description:

Salmon-Safe rewards growers and ranchers who protect streams and other natural
resources by focusing on actions that provide the most benefit for fish and wildlife
at the lowest cost to the landowner. The program focuses on six primary management practices: Riparian Area Management, Water Use Management, Erosion and Sediment Control, Integrated Pest Management and Water Quality Protection, Animal Management, and Biodiversity Conservation. Some benefits include stewardship recognition, marketing from the certification, and assistance securing other funding.

Eligibility:

Have farm located on rivers or an upland sites where impacts are primarily downstream.

Farm is utilizing integrated pest management (IPM), biodynamic, GLOBALG.A.P. or organic practices.
