Douglas County has a Multiple Species General Conservation Plan designed to preserve and enhance habitat for the four endangered or threatened species of interest (the Greater Sage Grouse, Columbian Sharp-tailed Grouse, Columbia Basin Pygmy Rabbit, and the Washington Ground Squirrel) while preserving farming for the future.
