Overview

Description:

CSP is designed to reward the best conservationists and motivate the rest! CSP supports ongoing conservation stewardship of agricultural lands by providing assistance to producers to maintain and enhance natural resources. CSP is a voluntary USDA program, designed for working lands (food and/or fiber production). This program financially rewards farmers and ranchers who are taking care of their land at the highest levels!

CDP provides technical assistance, cost-share and easement payments to landowners to restore and enhance wetlands on private property. Landowners follow a Restoration Plan that they design with the assistance of NRCS and establish either a permanent easement, a 30-year easement, or a 10-year restoration agreement.

The Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) is for producers who want to take their conservation efforts to the next level. Most CSP applicants have already applied conservation practices to their land. Through CSP, producers can further improve their conservation efforts with conservation activities called “enhancements.”

Enhancements allow a producer to address additional levels of conservation beyond what the minimum conservation practice standard requires. CSP applicants work one-on-one with their NRCS conservation planner to select enhancements that best fit their management goals and will address resource concerns on the enrolled land.
