Overview

Description:

The Terry Husseman Account grant program supports projects that restore or improve environmental, recreational, archaeological, or aesthetic resources. Funded by the Coastal Protection Fund, which
also funds oil spill cleanups, eligible projects include riparian and wetland restoration, stream bank stabilization, fish and wildlife habitat enhancement, and responses to environmental emergencies.
Applications are evaluated on environmental benefits, local support, cost-effectiveness, readiness to proceed, and benefits towards environmental justice and climate resilience.

Eligibility:

Private entities and non-profit organizations (except for Regional Fisheries Enhancement Groups) are not eligible to apply for Terry Husseman Account grants but can partner with eligible applicants.

Eligible applicants are:
- Washington counties, cities, and towns
- Federally recognized Tribal governments
- State agencies
- Regional Fisheries Enhancement Groups (RFEG)*
- Special Purpose Districts:
- Conservation Districts
- Ports
- Public Utility Districts

Financial benefit: 

The amount of funding available varies each funding cycle and depends on incoming revenue from water quality penalties in the Coastal Protection Fund.
Grant award limit: Varies. Please check the website and the funding guidelines for more information.
Match required: None. There are no recipient match or cost-share requirements. Terry Husseman Account grants may be an eligible match source for other grants.
